Ron Martin is the Principal Projection and Effects Engineer at AOA. Coming from a background of more than 40 years of experience that includes the creation of digital special effects, DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Cinema, Ron’s career stretches nearly all facets of entertainment. Ron’s professional career began during his studies at UCLA when he worked as a Broadcast and Post Production Engineer at ABC Television Network in Hollywood, California. He worked as Chief Engineer at The Post Group before serving as Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Universal Studios Hollywood and as Vice President of New Technology for Deluxe Digital Studios. Most recently, Ron served as the Vice President and Director of Research and Development at the Panasonic Hollywood Lab, providing new technologies to the movie studio and themed entertainment community. His favorite themed entertainment work includes serving as a projection and media consultant on Universal Studios Hollywood’s Terminator 2 – 3D: Battle Across Time and the Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Ron was recognized on the Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List in 2021 for his extensive work in projection mapping and special effects development.
