At AOA, Laura’s experience in fabrication has allowed her to successfully facilitate numerous projects to fruition. Her experience in fabrication and background in both themed entertainment design and architecture cultivate a passion for logical design in the built environment.
Laura’s previous endeavors include fabrication design for Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Volcano Bay, and Nintendo Land as well as Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Laura has contributed concept and show set production design for Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant, and Meow Wolf DC, Denver, and Vegas locations.
With a strong technical skill-set in programs like AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, the Adobe Suite, and 3D printing, Laura understands the process from concept through production drawings into oversight of shop drawings and permit sets. This includes buildability through knowledge of materials, finishes, attachments, and the capability to rework design in advanced stages for budget and schedule realities all while understanding what works in reality and how that differs from what works in the computer.
