As a former Disney Imagineer, Doug has experience in resorts rife with animal life, exciting E-ticket attractions, destination island locations, and endless other amazing projects. But for Doug, Imagineering is only the start of his adventure. Alongside AOA, the themed entertainment ball keeps on rollin’ into bold new heights with high-class clients.
As Project Executive, Doug combines his 25 years of hospitality development and architectural design with industry leaders across the board. From Walt Disney Imagineering to the Ginn Company, Doug has designed retail locations, residential communities, luxury resort hotels, vacation clubs, restaurants, and theme parks across the globe. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Margaritaville Vacation Club in St. Thomas, and Shanghai Disneyland are just a few of the projects he’s been a proud member of.
And as for his career highlights, Doug can tell you about the time he stood beside Mike and Tom at Shanghai Disneyland – except that it wasn’t quite yet Shanghai Disneyland. Instead, the AOA team gave a truly unique tour of the construction site: mud, boots, and all. While in Shanghai, Doug had the opportunity to manage both the design and construction of the E-ticket attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean – Treasure Cove. Entertainment architecture is among Doug’s favorite things, and working on Treasure Cove was truly the project of a lifetime.
Alongside AOA, Doug has managed design and construction activities for the Hong Kong Disneyland Hollywood Hotel, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney Institute’s 400 seat cinema, and more. His experience is truly legendary, especially in the realm of theme parks, restaurant locations, and retail experiences. Whether it’s establishing and managing a team, budgeting and scheduling, or hiring consultant groups, Doug has been among AOA’s A-team for each and every one of their clients.
