From coordinating construction of floating Show Action equipment to maintaining Audio Animatronics, Mikey is an incredible project coordinator, scenic painter, and themed entertainment professional. Whether he’s supporting large-scale productions at world-class theme parks or fabricating prop pieces for an operatic performance, Mikey adds a wealth of well-rounded experience to every project he approaches.
Mikey got his start in the entertainment world at the State University of New York’s Purchase College, where he studied Theatre Design and Technology. He went on to apply the skills he learned there, such as set decoration and fabrication, to a number of roles for the Walt Disney Company in scenic paint operations, project coordination, props, and more.
Michael’s previous projects include Disney’s Harmonious, where he supported Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment in constructing the seven show action barges on World Showcase Lagoon. His efforts were largely focused in material procurement, tracking, warehousing, and logistics of construction during the show’s production phase. In a similar vein, Michael also worked on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts, Fantasyland at Shanghai Disneyland, PANDORA – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, rollercoasters at both Busch Gardens locations and more.
His broad experience in coordination, management, and operations gives him the ability to understand how a project will morph long past close-out. Alongside the rest of the AOA team, he’s able to identify potential areas for continued maintenance, choose long-lasting materials, and care for a project even once the keys have been handed over.
In all steps of the project lifecycle, Mikey supports the logistics: construction, production, and all. As he ventures into each great adventure, he looks forward to building something beautiful alongside clients and team-mates alike.
