Laura Camp

Show Set Designer

Designing a cowboy-themed rodeo restaurant? Laura’s got it. Fabricating a design for a galaxy in the not-so far away cosmos of Orlando, Florida? Laura’s been there. Whether you’re looking to build a volcano waterpark or a magical castle, Laura’s ready to help out with a dose of fabrication expertise and a history of beautiful design.

Laura’s previous endeavors include fabrication design for Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Volcano Bay, Nintendo Land, and both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Whether it’s wizardry or just whizzing across the galaxy, Laura’s experience has carried her across a wealth of client goals and projects. With several THEA awards to show for that experience, its’ no wonder that this show set designer is among the industry’s finest.

Laura hasn’t put the mouse-shaped hats down there, either. She has contributed concept and show set production designs for various projects at the Walt Disney World Resort: the Galactic Starcruiser and Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving both cowboy barbeque restaurants and star-based “cruise ships” a taste of her definitive design skills. And if you’re looking for something a little more off-the-cuff when it comes to your entertainment offerings, Laura’s worked on Meow Wolf’s DC and Vegas offerings – and it definitely doesn’t get more off-the-cuff than a fictional grocery store that doubles as an art installation. With AOA at her side, there’s nothing that Laura can’t design, executive, and celebrate.

With a strong technical skillset in programs like CAD, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, and the Adobe Suite, Laura understands the process of a successful project. From concept through production drawings into oversight of shop drawings and permit sets, Laura’s behind the connection between inception and completion.
