From high-rise hotels to educational facilities, Johnny Kwok’s project management experience spans both decades and industries. Across countless initiatives, Johnny has demonstrated technical excellence in every aspect of a project’s lifecycle. As part of the AOA team, his unique experience gives him the ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets, achieve excellent guest experiences, and manage realistic, buildable schedules.
Johnny’s projects include Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disneyland Resort, Park Place Office Tower in Irvine, CA, retrofit of several historical buildings at the University of Southern California, and many others. Johnny has led multi-disciplinary teams both domestically and internationally on these fast-paced, complex initiatives. On one theme park expansion initiative, he led the design management of a $270M, fast-tracked land expansion project, including a VR dark ride with rich show contents, interactive games, dining, and retail. His ability to build and manage efficient, effective teams gives him the ability to craft a common vision through story-telling and immersive experiences.
Johnny got his start at the University of California, where he studied Civil Engineering and graduated with high honors. He carried his education into two more degrees: a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Strategy, both from the University of California. He also holds several certifications and licenses across the engineering and project management world: a Six Sigma Green Belt, a Project Management Professional certificate from the Project Management Institute, and a Structural Engineering license from the state of California, among others. From there on, he worked for companies like Westfield Corporations, MMFX Technologies, and Walt Disney Imagineering.
Alongside his AOA team-mates, Johnny looks forward to building incredible experiences that are both within schedule and within budget. His project management excellence ensures that creativity and buildability are crafted into every line of a proposal, package, and project.
