This mechanical engineer and project coordinator has worked in aerospace design, undersea vehicle maintenance, and themed entertainment projects. Jena’s naval knowledge is offbeat compared to the rest of the AOA team, but her skills and expertise certainly aren’t. With her one-of-a-kind experience and distinct perspective, Jenn is able to provide unique support across the team – e-ticket attractions and all!
Jena’s previous engineering experience comes from internships with the Department of the Navy’s flight controls division, supporting various Navy aircraft fleets; and Oceaneering, building and maintaining small underwater vehicles for the Navy. Her education background from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Design allows her to understand technical, creative, and production aspects of complex, interdisciplinary projects. Her experience with the US Navy carried her on to projects like The World of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT’s HarmonioUS, and so many more exciting entertainment endeavors.
Jena’s favorite thing about her job is the fact that she’s never alone. At AOA, Jena knows that the team will never let her flounder; help is always just a stone’s throw away, and she loves that mutual trust is an integral part of everything they do. She also loves that there’s always something new to learn. Every day is different in its projects, its challenges, and its achievements; at Jena’s job, it’s never boring, and it’s certainly never isolating.
During her time with AOA, she has helped support various internal and external projects. She’s provided show equipment for EPCOT’s SPACE220, created initiatives for the local Lake Nona, and worked on a wealth of top-secret entertainment initiatives. For Jena and her AOA team, every day brings something different and a host of new skills to learn with it.
