With a host of domestic and international experience at her side, Carla Mulieri is an incredible addition to AOA’s scenic paint team. Her great knowledge of materials and techniques allows her to tackle any environment with great skill. Rusty spaceship overgrown with peat moss? Carla can paint it perfectly. Elegant ballroom with marble details? Carla’s got the skills to make it gleam. Amidst any client project, Carla is a strategic paint problem-solver.
Carla’s painting experience began at very early age, as she grew up in a family of architects. Eventually, that early passion took her to Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated cum-laude with a B.F.A. in Production Design. She carried her education into the fast-paced theme park world, where she picked up the invaluable ability to create scenic attributes that can withstand heavy guest traffic, endure extreme weather, and last for years on-end.
In recent years, her achievements have taken her to places like PANDORA – The World of Avatar, where she led a team of 12 scenic artists on exterior and interior treatment. From sampling to blacklight painting, Carla helped turn this Pandoran moon into an entirely new world. Carla has also worked on Diagon Alley at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where she handled brick texturing, signage and lettering, rust texturing, and so much more.
Carla’s versatile style allows her to adapt quickly to any painting technique; it’s part of what makes her work so high-quality. That versatile ability also allows her to create quality work very quickly – a critical trait in the fast-paced world of themed entertainment. For Carla, painting is a passion that she’s excited to carry out on any client project
